Quintessenza Ristorante
Stone floors indoors and out in one of the most admired restaurants in Italy: chosen for strength and visual impact.

Dining room, courtyard, cellar and terrace are paved with the same material. In a place that works every day, the stone has to take constant traffic, trolleys and washing, and at the same time act as a neutral ground for the table.
The context
A restaurant set inside a historic building, with exposed block walls and rooms that open one onto the other: inside, outside, below and above. The floor had to be the same everywhere, stand up to professional use and not steal the scene from the architecture.
The work
Paving in pale stone slabs laid continuously from the dining room to the courtyard, from the cellar to the terrace. The same stone returns in the steps and in the split-face frame of the serving hatch towards the kitchen.
