Masseria Valentina
Natural stone and Trani marble in harmony with the landscape of the Valle d'Itria.
A restored masseria that opens onto the countryside: the courtyard with the arch, the dining room under the vault of stone blocks, the bedrooms. The same floor holds together rooms built in different eras.
The context
Vaults in stone blocks, whitewashed walls, new full-height openings: a whole that risked reading in pieces. The paving had to be the common denominator and take the passage from the hall to the courtyard without changing material.
The work
Paving in pale stone slabs laid continuously between indoors and out, from the courtyard to the bedrooms. In the vaulted hall the slabs are large format; towards the garden the same stone carries on in the walkway and around the pool.
