Private home, Squinzano
Natural stone and Trani marble details in a house surrounded by the Salento countryside.
The house is reached by climbing: a wide staircase crosses the lawn and arrives at the entrance with its carved wooden door. From there the stone accompanies the whole perimeter, out to the edge of the pool.
The context
A sloping plot, with the main front raised above the garden. Steps of great length were needed, and walkways that would hold the change in level while still reading as one single design, with no kerbs on show.
The work
Staircase and landings in thick pale stone slabs, walkways of isolated slabs laid among the cobbles, entrance paving in regular courses. The same stone closes the edge of the pool and clads the shower area.
